Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has tied up with The Oberoi Hotels and Resorts to jointly manage two hotels in India and one in the UK. These properties include the upcoming Anant Vilas Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the Stoke Park in the UK, and another planned but unnamed project in Gujarat.
The Mumbai Anant Vilas Hotel will be the first Oberoi ‘Vilas’ in a metro, aiming to offer an iconic experience to visitors in the bustling business district.
RIL subsidiary, UK Stoke Park Limited will be assisted by the Oberoi group to upgrade the facilities and offer an unparalleled guest experience. The third under-implementation Gujarat project would aim at expanding the tourism potential in the western state of India.
'Oberoi has an unparalleled track record of providing outstanding customer service in the hospitality industry globally. Oberoi has in their portfolio several palaces and other historic properties that have been enhanced while preserving the character and vision of the historic properties,” said Reliance in a statement on Thursday.
Reliance has been increasingly showing interest in the hospitality sector. Last year it announced acquiring a 73.4% stake in the Mandarin Oriental New York for a whopping $98.1 million and in 2023, it partnered with Oberoi Hotels to co-manage hospitality projects in India and abroad.
